Alternative Technology Engineering

Adapt, Improvise and Overcome - the best definition that comes to mind.

What might you have in common with the United States Marines? Alternative technology engineering is one of the traits that makes us different from every other military organization in the world. We learn (they pound it into our heads in bootcamp) and practice, three vital words - Adapt, Improvise and Overcome - which boils down to "create a solution if you can't find one ready-made". Don't stop just because "tab B" does not fit into "slot Z".
((or, "oh, that hill ain't on the map but we will MAKE a way to take it anyways"))

(for those visitors less familiar with US-American slang, this means "I should of thought of that" -- like the V8 commercial) All this time you were an Alternative Techie and didn't know it.
